About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer to join their growing team in Nottingham . This role is crucial for safeguarding vehicle systems against cyber threats, ensuring the integrity and security of connected and autonomous vehicles. You will be involved in identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security measures, and responding to security incidents within the automotive domain. We are looking for an expert with a strong background in cybersecurity principles and a keen understanding of the unique challenges presented by automotive systems, contributing to secure vehicle development from design to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct security risk assessments and threat modeling for automotive systems and components.
- Design and implement security architectures, controls, and protocols to protect vehicles from cyber-attacks.
- Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on automotive ECUs, networks, and software.
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices for automotive applications.
- Collaborate with hardware and software development teams to embed security throughout the product lifecycle.
- Monitor security threats and respond to incidents, including analysis and remediation.
- Ensure compliance with automotive cybersecurity standards such as ISO/SAE 21434 and UN R155.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in cybersecurity , with a focus on automotive applications.
- Strong understanding of common cybersecurity principles, cryptography, network security, and secure coding practices.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet) and security considerations.
- Experience with security analysis tools and penetration testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity standards and regulations is essential.
