Lead Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer to spearhead their cybersecurity efforts in a fully remote, collaborative environment. This role is critical in protecting our client's vehicles and connected services from evolving cyber threats. You will define and implement robust security strategies, standards, and processes across the entire automotive development lifecycle. Working remotely, you will lead a team of cybersecurity professionals, foster a security-aware culture, and ensure that our client's vehicles remain secure and trustworthy in an increasingly connected world.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the automotive cybersecurity strategy and roadmap.
• Define security requirements for in-vehicle systems, connected services, and backend infrastructure.
• Lead threat modeling, risk assessment, and security vulnerability analysis for automotive systems.
• Implement and oversee security controls, including encryption, authentication, and intrusion detection systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance with automotive security standards (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434).
• Manage and mentor a team of cybersecurity engineers, fostering their professional growth.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Significant experience (8+ years) in cybersecurity engineering, with a strong focus on the automotive sector.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive security principles, threats, and countermeasures.
• Experience with security standards like ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE WP.29, and relevant regulations.
• Proficiency in security analysis tools and techniques.
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a remote team effectively.
