About the Role
Our client is looking for an innovative and experienced Automotive Electrical Engineer to join their advanced engineering team based in Sunderland . This role is integral to the design, development, and testing of complex electrical systems and components for next-generation vehicles. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and software developers, to deliver cutting-edge automotive solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in electrical engineering and a passion for automotive innovation, contributing to the development of reliable and high-performance electrical architectures in a dynamic, automotive setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test automotive electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, control modules, and power distribution systems.
- Create detailed schematics, component layouts, and technical specifications using CAD and electrical design software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during prototype development and vehicle integration phases.
- Collaborate with suppliers to select and qualify electrical components that meet performance, cost, and reliability targets for automotive applications .
- Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations relevant to automotive electrical systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in automotive electrical engineering .
- Proficiency with electrical design software such as Altium Designer, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar.
- Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and validation methodologies in the automotive industry .
