About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Automotive Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Plymouth . This role focuses on the design, development, and testing of electrical systems and components for a variety of automotive applications. You will be integral to ensuring the performance, reliability, and safety of the electrical architecture in our client's vehicles. Working within a dedicated engineering department, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative electrical solutions from concept to production, contributing to the technological advancement of modern automobiles.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems, harnesses, and components for automotive applications.
• Create detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using specialized software.
• Specify electrical components, considering performance requirements, cost, and manufacturability.
• Conduct testing and validation of electrical systems, troubleshooting issues and ensuring compliance with standards.
• Work closely with software engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical hardware and control logic.
• Support vehicle integration activities and provide technical assistance during prototype and production phases.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive electrical design or development.
• Proficiency with electrical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Zuken E3.series).
• Solid understanding of automotive electrical architectures, power distribution, and signal integrity.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols and standards.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
