Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer

Our client is seeking a talented Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer to join their dynamic research and development division in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will play a crucial role in designing, integrating, and testing sophisticated electrical systems and components for cutting-edge vehicle platforms. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive electrical distribution systems, including wiring harnesses, connectors, and protection devices.
• Specify and integrate electronic control units (ECUs), sensors, actuators, and other electrical components.
• Perform electrical system troubleshooting and diagnostics, identifying and resolving complex issues.
• Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics, diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Collaborate with software engineers and hardware developers to ensure seamless system integration and functionality.
• Conduct validation testing of electrical systems and components to ensure compliance with industry standards and performance requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in automotive electrical engineering .
• Strong knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
• Experience with electrical design tools (e.g., Zuken E3, Mentor Graphics Capital) and simulation software.
• Familiarity with automotive power management, lighting, and infotainment systems.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
