About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Electrician to join their team in Edinburgh . This role is crucial for maintaining the complex electrical systems found in modern vehicles. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing electrical components, wiring harnesses, and related systems. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair faults in vehicle electrical systems, including lighting, power windows, central locking, and battery systems.
- Install and configure new electrical components, such as audio systems, navigation units, and security devices.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical schematics to accurately identify and resolve electrical issues.
- Perform wiring repairs, including splicing, soldering, and crimping, ensuring secure and reliable connections.
- Test repaired electrical systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and meet safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all workshop safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Electrician or in a similar role involving vehicle electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical principles, components, and diagnostic procedures.
- Ability to read and understand complex wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- A relevant vocational qualification in automotive electrical systems is advantageous.
