Automotive Electrician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Automotive Electrician to join their dynamic team in Leeds . This role focuses on the diagnosis and repair of all electrical systems within vehicles, from lighting and battery issues to complex wiring harnesses and accessory installations. You will be instrumental in ensuring vehicles are electrically sound and meet all safety standards. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with a solid understanding of automotive electrical principles and a commitment to delivering high-quality repairs for a diverse range of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, including wiring, lighting, battery, starter, and charging systems.
• Install and configure aftermarket accessories, such as alarms, audio systems, and GPS trackers.
• Perform diagnostic checks on vehicle computer systems and ECUs.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately.
• Replace and repair damaged wiring harnesses and connectors.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Automotive Electrician or in a similar electrical repair role.
• Solid understanding of DC electrical theory and automotive wiring systems.
• Experience using multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical testing equipment.
• Ability to read and understand automotive electrical schematics.
• Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• A valid driving license and a willingness to undertake further training.
