About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Automotive Electrician to join their team in Portsmouth . This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in a variety of vehicles. You will be responsible for diagnosing electrical faults, troubleshooting wiring issues, and ensuring all electrical components function correctly and safely. If you have a strong background in automotive electrical systems and a keen eye for detail, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established automotive service centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in vehicle wiring harnesses, lighting systems, and accessories.
• Install and maintain electrical components such as batteries, alternators, starters, and radios.
• Perform electrical system checks and preventative maintenance.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals to guide repairs.
• Test electrical equipment and circuits to ensure proper function and safety.
• Advise customers on electrical maintenance and potential issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Automotive Electrician or a highly skilled mechanic with electrical expertise.
• Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, including 12V and 24V systems.
• Ability to read and interpret complex wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment for electrical systems.
• Proficiency in soldering, crimping, and other electrical repair techniques.
• A valid UK driving licence is essential.
