Automotive Electronics Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Automotive Electronics Engineer to join their hybrid-working team in Stoke-on-Trent . You will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and testing electronic control units (ECUs) and related systems for the next generation of vehicles. This role involves a dynamic mix of remote work for design and analysis, and on-site collaboration for hardware integration and testing. You will contribute to the development of cutting-edge automotive electronics, including infotainment systems, powertrain controls, and advanced safety features, ensuring they meet rigorous performance and reliability standards. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic circuits and systems for automotive applications, including microcontrollers, sensors, and power electronics.
• Create schematic diagrams and printed circuit board (PCB) layouts using EDA tools.
• Perform circuit simulation, hardware testing, and debugging to validate designs.
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and firmware.
• Work with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for mass production.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in automotive electronics technology and industry trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in automotive electronics design and development.
• Proficiency with electronics design software (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence).
• Strong understanding of semiconductor devices, power electronics, and embedded systems.
• Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN) is advantageous.
