About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and skilled Automotive Electronics Technician to join their dedicated team in Birmingham . This role is essential for maintaining and repairing the complex electronic systems within modern vehicles. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to engine control units, infotainment systems, safety sensors, and other advanced electronic components, ensuring optimal vehicle performance and safety. Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose electronic faults using advanced diagnostic equipment and software, interpreting technical data accurately.
• Perform repairs and replacements of electronic components, modules, and wiring harnesses according to manufacturer specifications.
• Install and configure new electronic systems, including infotainment, navigation, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
• Conduct routine maintenance and software updates for vehicle electronic control units (ECUs).
• Test and calibrate electronic systems to ensure they function correctly and safely.
• Maintain detailed records of all diagnostic procedures, repairs performed, and parts used in the workshop management system.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Automotive Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrable experience as an Automotive Technician with a strong focus on electronic systems.
• Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
• Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols such as CAN bus is essential.
• Ability to interpret complex wiring diagrams and technical service bulletins.
• A valid UK driving license and a strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
