About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Automotive Electronics Technician to join their workshop in Edinburgh . You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex electronic systems within vehicles. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive electrical principles and the ability to work with precision tools. You will be part of a team committed to providing high-quality service and ensuring the optimal performance of vehicle electronics.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electronic systems, including infotainment, navigation, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and vehicle networks.
- Install and configure electronic modules, sensors, and control units.
- Perform software updates and calibrations for various vehicle electronic systems.
- Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of electrical circuits and components.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and diagnostic findings.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Automotive Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience as an Automotive Electronics Technician or similar role.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment.
- Solid understanding of automotive wiring, CAN bus communication, and electronic component functions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
