About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Automotive Electronics Technician to join their technical team in Brighton . You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex electronic systems in vehicles. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, diagnostic equipment, and troubleshooting techniques. You will work on a variety of vehicles, ensuring that all electronic components function optimally and safely, contributing to a hybrid work environment that supports both in-person and remote collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, diagnose, and repair automotive electronic systems, including infotainment, navigation, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
- Use specialized diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults in electronic control units (ECUs) and related components.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of electronic systems to ensure peak performance and reliability.
- Interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and service bulletins to guide repair procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and time taken.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in automotive electronics technology.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Electronics Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, including CAN bus and other communication networks.
- Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic testing equipment.
- Ability to read and understand complex electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ) are advantageous.
