About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Automotive Embedded Software Developer to join their innovative engineering team in Portsmouth . You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded software for various automotive control units and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and automotive communication protocols. You will contribute to the creation of cutting-edge automotive technologies, ensuring high performance, reliability, and safety in every aspect of your work, and collaborating closely with a dedicated team of engineers on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for automotive ECUs using C/C++.
• Implement and optimize real-time operating systems (RTOS) for automotive applications.
• Integrate software components and ensure seamless communication between different vehicle modules.
• Perform thorough unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of embedded software.
• Work closely with hardware engineers to define requirements and validate system functionality.
• Document software design, code, and test procedures meticulously.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in embedded software development, with a strong focus on C/C++.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and UDS.
• Experience with debugging tools and techniques for embedded systems.
