About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Automotive Lighting Systems Engineer to join their innovative team in Plymouth, Devon . This role is responsible for the design, development, and integration of advanced lighting systems for vehicles, including headlights, taillights, and interior lighting. You will work on cutting-edge technologies that enhance vehicle aesthetics, safety, and functionality. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive lighting systems (headlamps, taillamps, interior lighting) from concept to production.
- Specify and select lighting components such as LEDs, optics, and control modules.
- Utilize CAD tools for 3D modeling and design layout of lighting assemblies.
- Perform photometric analysis and simulations to ensure compliance with regulations and performance targets.
- Collaborate with exterior designers and vehicle packaging engineers to integrate lighting solutions seamlessly.
- Develop and execute validation test plans for lighting systems, including durability and environmental testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive lighting system design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of optical principles and lighting technologies (e.g., LED, Xenon).
- Familiarity with automotive lighting regulations (e.g., ECE, FMVSS).
- Experience with photometric testing and simulation software is a plus.
