Automotive Manufacturing Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated Automotive Manufacturing Process Engineer to join their production facility in Oxford . This role is essential for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the quality of automotive components produced. You will be responsible for analyzing current production methods, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance productivity and reduce waste. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, a solid understanding of lean principles, and a proactive approach to process improvement within a fast-paced automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and quality issues.
• Develop and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma methodologies, and other optimization tools.
• Design, test, and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment to meet production demands and quality standards.
• Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Collaborate with production teams, quality control, and engineering departments to ensure smooth process implementation and continuous improvement.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, and cost, and report on progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in process engineering within the automotive manufacturing sector.
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and process flow diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a team.
