Automotive NVH Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Automotive NVH Engineer to join their dedicated team in Portsmouth . This role is critical in ensuring vehicles provide a superior driving experience by minimizing unwanted noise and vibration. You will be involved in the entire NVH development cycle, from target setting and design through to testing and validation, contributing to the refinement and quality of automotive products, working in a hybrid capacity that blends office and remote collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform NVH analysis and testing on vehicle components and systems to identify sources of noise and vibration.
• Develop and implement NVH mitigation strategies, including material selection, component design modifications, and mounting system optimization.
• Conduct vehicle-level NVH assessments and subjective evaluations to ensure targets are met.
• Utilize advanced measurement equipment and software (e.g., LMS, Brüel & Kjær) for data acquisition and analysis.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to integrate NVH considerations early in the development process.
• Document NVH test results, analysis, and recommendations clearly and concisely.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive NVH engineering .
• Proficiency with NVH simulation tools and data acquisition systems.
• Strong understanding of acoustics, vibration principles, and vehicle dynamics.
• Experience with vehicle body structures, powertrain, and suspension systems relevant to NVH.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
