Automotive Parts Advisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Automotive Parts Advisor to join their busy parts department in Portsmouth . You will be responsible for managing the inventory, sourcing parts, and providing expert advice to both trade customers and the workshop. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of automotive components. You will play a vital role in ensuring the workshop and our external customers have the parts they need, when they need them, contributing to smooth operations and high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and source automotive parts for customer and workshop requirements, using electronic catalogues and supplier systems.
• Manage stock levels, conduct regular inventory checks, and maintain an organized and efficient parts department.
• Process parts orders, raise invoices, and handle customer payments accurately.
• Provide technical advice and recommendations to customers and technicians regarding parts selection.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely deliveries.
• Assist with the returns process for incorrect or faulty parts.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an Automotive Parts Department or similar role.
• Proficiency in using electronic parts catalogues and inventory management systems.
• Strong knowledge of automotive components, systems, and vehicle makes/models.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• A proactive approach to stock management and problem-solving.
