About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative Automotive Performance Engineer to join their dynamic team in Liverpool . This role is integral to developing and enhancing the performance characteristics of vehicles, focusing on areas such as engine tuning, suspension optimisation, and aerodynamic improvements. You will work on cutting-edge projects, utilising advanced simulation tools and real-world testing to push the boundaries of automotive engineering and deliver superior driving experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test performance-oriented vehicle components and systems.
• Conduct engine performance mapping and calibration using specialised software.
• Analyse vehicle dynamics data to optimise suspension, braking, and steering systems.
• Perform aerodynamic simulations and wind tunnel testing to improve vehicle efficiency and stability.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure performance goals are met within project timelines and budgets.
• Document and report on test results, providing recommendations for further improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive performance engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of internal combustion engines, vehicle dynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Proficiency with simulation software such as MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, or similar.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for automotive performance.
