About the Role

Our client seeks an accomplished Automotive Powertrain Calibration Engineer to join their cutting-edge facility in Belfast . This role is essential for optimizing the performance, emissions, and drivability of internal combustion engine and hybrid vehicle powertrains. You will work hands-on with advanced testing equipment and simulation tools, ensuring that our client's vehicles meet the highest standards of efficiency and driving experience, contributing to a legacy of engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement calibration strategies for engine control units (ECUs) to optimize performance, fuel economy, and emissions.
• Conduct real-world vehicle testing and dynamometer testing to validate calibration settings under various operating conditions.
• Analyze test data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and refine calibration parameters.
• Collaborate with engine design and development teams to provide feedback on hardware requirements and performance targets.
• Ensure compliance with current and future emissions regulations (e.g., Euro 7).
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of calibration procedures, results, and specifications.

Requirements

• Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in powertrain calibration , preferably within the automotive industry.
• Proficiency with engine calibration tools and software (e.g., INCA, ETAS).
• Solid understanding of internal combustion engine principles, thermodynamics, and combustion processes.
• Experience with hybrid powertrain systems and battery management systems is a plus.
• Strong data analysis skills and the ability to interpret complex technical information.
