Automotive Powertrain Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Automotive Powertrain Engineer to join their team in Glasgow . Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test new powertrain components and systems, including engines, transmissions, and electric drivetrains.
• Perform performance simulations and analysis to optimize fuel efficiency, emissions, and power output.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure the successful integration of powertrain components.
• Conduct rigorous testing and validation of powertrain systems, both in laboratory settings and on vehicles.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to powertrain performance and reliability.
• Stay current with the latest powertrain technologies and industry trends, proposing innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive powertrain development.
• Strong understanding of internal combustion engines, hybrid systems, or electric vehicle powertrains.
• Proficiency with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, GT-SUITE, or similar.
• Experience with dynamometer testing and data acquisition systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
