About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Automotive Powertrain Engineer to join their innovative team in Bristol . This role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of vehicle powertrains, including internal combustion engines, hybrid systems, and electric powertrains. You will work on cutting-edge technologies, contributing to the efficiency, performance, and emissions reduction of future vehicles. This is a key position within a collaborative engineering department, offering the chance to make a significant impact on vehicle development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop powertrain components and systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Conduct simulations and analysis to predict powertrain behavior and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers to source and integrate powertrain components.
- Support engine and vehicle testing, analyzing data to validate designs and performance targets.
- Contribute to the development of hybrid and electric vehicle powertrain technologies.
- Ensure powertrain systems meet all relevant regulatory and emissions standards.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for powertrain development projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in automotive powertrain engineering , covering ICE, hybrid, or EV systems.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mechanical design principles.
- Experience with powertrain simulation tools such as GT-Power, AVL BOOST, or similar.
- Familiarity with vehicle emissions regulations and testing procedures.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
