About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Automotive Production Manager to oversee operations at their manufacturing plant in Derby . This leadership role is responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production of automotive components. You will lead a dedicated team, optimize production processes, and maintain rigorous quality standards to meet business objectives and customer demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day production activities, ensuring targets for volume, quality, and cost are met.
- Supervise and motivate a team of production staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Implement and enforce lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor production performance, analyze data, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the production facility.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics, engineering, and quality control, to optimize workflow.
- Manage resources, including staffing, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a production management role, preferably within the automotive manufacturing sector.
- Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Experience with lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze production data and make informed decisions.
- Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to quality and safety.
