About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Automotive Quality Inspector to join their established team in Portsmouth, Hampshire . You will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles and automotive components meet the rigorous quality standards set by the company and industry regulations. This hands-on role requires a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of automotive manufacturing and assembly processes. You will work closely with production teams, engineers, and management to identify and rectify any quality issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and brand reputation are maintained at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished vehicles and automotive parts against established quality standards and specifications.
- Utilize various measuring and testing instruments to assess component dimensions, functionality, and cosmetic appearance.
- Identify, document, and report any non-conformities, defects, or deviations from quality requirements.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, quality reports, and actions taken.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant automotive industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Quality Inspector or in a similar quality control role within the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, materials, and common defects.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Excellent attention to detail and a systematic approach to inspection.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality control plans.
- Good communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with teams in Portsmouth .
