Automotive Quality Inspector

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Automotive Quality Inspector to join their manufacturing facility in Southampton . In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all manufactured automotive components meet the highest standards of quality and specification. You will conduct thorough inspections at various stages of the production process, identify defects, and implement corrective actions to maintain product integrity. This position is vital to the company's reputation for excellence and requires a proactive approach to quality assurance, working diligently within a production environment in Southampton .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of automotive parts and assemblies against specifications and drawings.
• Utilize various measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify part conformity.
• Identify, document, and report non-conforming products and materials to production supervisors and quality management.
• Participate in root cause analysis of quality issues and assist in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, such as IATF 16949.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a quality inspection role, preferably within the automotive manufacturing sector.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience using various measuring and testing equipment.
• Knowledge of quality control principles and methodologies.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a production team.
