Automotive Service Advisor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a professional and customer-oriented Automotive Service Advisor to join their dealership in Portsmouth . In this front-line role, you will be the primary point of contact for customers bringing their vehicles in for service or repair. You will consult with customers to understand their needs, accurately record service requirements, explain proposed work and costs, and manage the vehicle's journey through the workshop. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences within a busy automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their vehicle concerns, and accurately log service requests.
• Translate customer needs into clear instructions for the workshop technicians.
• Provide customers with accurate estimates for service and repair costs, explaining recommended work.
• Manage customer expectations regarding repair times and keep them informed of progress.
• Process service orders, schedule appointments, and manage the flow of vehicles through the service department.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering excellent service and addressing any concerns promptly.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or in a similar customer-facing role within the automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
• Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using service scheduling software and basic computer applications.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
