Automotive Service Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Automotive Service Manager to oversee operations at their busy dealership in Cardiff . This leadership position is responsible for managing the entire service department, including technicians, service advisors, and administrative staff, ensuring exceptional customer service and maximizing profitability. You will play a crucial role in driving team performance, maintaining high standards of work quality, and fostering a positive customer experience. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, possess excellent organisational skills, and have a proven track record in automotive service management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and manage the service department team, setting clear performance expectations and providing regular feedback.
• Ensure the efficient scheduling of appointments and workflow of the workshop to meet customer needs and maximise technician productivity.
• Oversee the quality of all repairs and maintenance performed, ensuring adherence to manufacturer standards.
• Manage customer relationships, handling complaints and resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Control workshop expenses, manage parts inventory, and drive profitability for the service department.
• Implement and maintain high standards for health and safety within the workshop environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an Automotive Service Manager or similar leadership role within the automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of automotive repair processes, parts management, and workshop operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive profitability.
• Proficiency in using dealership management systems (DMS) and other relevant software.
• A passion for customer service and a commitment to delivering excellence.
