About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead their highly regarded service department in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire . You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the service operations, from managing the workshop team and ensuring high-quality customer service to controlling departmental budgets and profitability. This leadership role requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of automotive repair processes and customer relations. You will foster a positive team culture, drive efficiency, and ensure the highest standards of customer satisfaction are consistently met within a busy, thriving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the automotive service department, including workshop scheduling and workflow optimisation.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of service advisors, technicians, and support staff.
- Ensure exceptional customer service delivery, handling complaints and resolving issues effectively.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase service department profitability and efficiency.
- Control departmental budgets, manage inventory, and oversee the ordering of parts and equipment.
- Maintain high standards of work quality, safety, and compliance with industry regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Service Manager or senior leadership role within the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive repair processes, diagnostics, and technical requirements.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
- Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in dealership management systems (DMS) and financial reporting.
- Business acumen with a proven track record of managing budgets and driving profitability.
