About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous Automotive Systems Integration Engineer to join their dynamic team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This hybrid role offers a blend of remote work flexibility and essential in-office collaboration. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration and functionality of various electronic and software systems within vehicles, from initial concept through to production. This is a critical role that bridges the gap between different engineering disciplines, ensuring that all components work harmoniously to deliver exceptional performance and user experience, contributing significantly to the quality and innovation of the vehicles produced.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and manage system integration requirements for automotive electronic and software components.
- Oversee the integration of various subsystems, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
- Develop and execute integration test plans, identifying and resolving system-level issues.
- Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and mechanical engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Analyze system performance data and implement necessary adjustments for improvement.
- Support vehicle testing and validation activities, both remotely and on-site as required.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in systems integration within the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive networks and protocols (e.g., CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
- Experience with diagnostic tools and vehicle communication interfaces.
- Familiarity with software development processes and system validation methodologies.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for effective hybrid working.
