Automotive Systems Integration Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Automotive Systems Integration Engineer to join their advanced engineering department in Bradford . This hybrid role offers a blend of on-site collaboration and remote work flexibility, allowing you to contribute effectively to the development of integrated vehicle systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that various automotive subsystems work harmoniously together, from initial concept through to final vehicle integration. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of automotive engineering disciplines and a proven ability to solve complex integration challenges, ensuring the seamless functionality of vehicle platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and manage system integration requirements and interfaces between diverse automotive subsystems (e.g., powertrain, chassis, body, infotainment).
• Develop and execute integration test plans, ensuring that all systems function correctly individually and collectively.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate closely with component and system design teams to ensure compatibility and performance.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, interfaces, and integration status.
• Support vehicle testing activities, providing expertise in system behaviour and integration.

Requirements

• Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in automotive systems integration or a closely related field.
• Broad understanding of automotive subsystems and their interactions.
• Experience with system validation, testing methodologies, and issue tracking tools.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
