About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Systems Software Architect to join their innovative team in Norwich . In this hybrid role, you will define the overarching software architecture for complex automotive systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability. Key Responsibilities

• Define and document the software architecture for automotive electronic control units (ECUs) and in-vehicle networks, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
• Design software components and interfaces, considering factors such as performance, security, safety, and real-time constraints.
• Lead technical discussions and guide software development teams in implementing the defined architecture.
• Evaluate and select appropriate software technologies, tools, and methodologies for automotive development.
• Collaborate with system engineers and domain experts to refine requirements and ensure architectural alignment with overall vehicle objectives.
• Perform architectural reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure the integrity and quality of the software design.
• Identify and mitigate architectural risks, ensuring the robustness and scalability of the software system.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in automotive software, AUTOSAR, and related fields.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software development, with at least 4 years in an architect role , specifically within the automotive industry .
• In-depth knowledge of automotive software architectures, including experience with AUTOSAR or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and software design patterns.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet) and diagnostic protocols (UDS).
• Proficiency in system modeling tools (e.g., UML, SysML) and software design principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences in a hybrid working environment.
