About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive Workshop Manager to lead their busy service centre in Brighton . You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing a team of technicians, ensuring high standards of customer service, and driving workshop profitability. This is a critical leadership role that requires a blend of technical knowledge, management skills, and a strong commercial focus. You will be instrumental in maintaining the workshop's reputation for quality and efficiency, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards within the Brighton area.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the automotive workshop, including scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of automotive technicians, setting clear performance objectives.
• Ensure all vehicle repairs and maintenance are carried out to the highest quality standards and within agreed timelines.
• Manage workshop profitability by controlling costs, optimising labour utilisation, and identifying upselling opportunities.
• Oversee customer service, handling enquiries, complaints, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Maintain workshop equipment and ensure a safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve workshop efficiency and service offerings.

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing an automotive workshop or service department.
• Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of vehicle mechanics and diagnostics across various makes and models.
• Commercial acumen with experience in budget management and P&L responsibility.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
• A valid UK driving license.
