Aviation Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and skilled Aviation Cybersecurity Analyst to join their growing IT security team. This is a fully remote position, providing an opportunity to work from anywhere within the UK. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding the organization's digital assets, critical systems, and sensitive data against evolving cyber threats within the unique context of the aviation industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat intelligence, incident response, and relevant regulatory compliance frameworks, ensuring the resilience and security of our client's aviation technology infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools to detect and respond to potential cybersecurity threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on aviation IT systems and networks.
• Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to protect against cyber-attacks.
• Manage and respond to security incidents, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies relevant to the aviation sector .
• Collaborate with IT and operational teams to ensure the security of systems, applications, and data throughout their lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity analysis, threat intelligence, or incident response.
• Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and cloud security principles.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements in aviation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
