About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Aviation Ground Operations Specialist to manage and coordinate all ground handling activities at their busy Plymouth base. This role is fundamental to ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely turnaround of aircraft. You will be responsible for overseeing baggage handling, passenger services, flight dispatch coordination, and liaising with various airline and airport stakeholders. This is a challenging yet rewarding position for someone passionate about aviation operations, offering direct involvement in the day-to-day running of an airport environment and contributing to a smooth travel experience for passengers.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise all ground handling services, including baggage, cargo, and passenger processing.
- Ensure compliance with all aviation safety regulations, security procedures, and airline operational requirements.
- Liaise effectively with flight crews, air traffic control, and other airport services to manage aircraft turnaround times.
- Monitor and manage the flow of passengers and baggage to and from aircraft, resolving any issues that arise.
- Maintain accurate records of ground operations activities and prepare operational reports as required.
- Respond to and manage irregular operations, such as flight delays or diversions, with efficiency and professionalism.
Requirements
- Previous experience in airport ground operations, airline services, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of aviation safety protocols, security procedures, and airport operations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a proven capacity to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, as per operational needs in Plymouth .
