About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Surveyor to join their operational team in Plymouth , focusing on implementing and utilizing advanced digital surveying technologies within their mining activities. You will be responsible for accurate spatial data acquisition, processing, and integration to support mine planning, production, and geological modeling. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, precision, and a commitment to adopting innovative surveying techniques to enhance operational efficiency and safety on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-precision surveys of mine workings, infrastructure, and surface areas using total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
- Process and analyze survey data to create and update mine plans, cross-sections, and volumetric calculations.
- Integrate survey data with geological and engineering models using specialized software.
- Monitor and control mine volumes and development, ensuring accuracy against planned excavations.
- Implement and maintain digital surveying workflows and quality control procedures.
- Ensure all survey activities comply with safety regulations and company standards.
Requirements
- HND or degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor or in a similar surveying role within the mining or construction industry.
- Proficiency with modern surveying instruments and software (e.g., Leica, Trimble, AutoCAD, 3D modeling software).
- Experience with digital data management and integration workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and processing.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a site-based team.
