Aviation Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and dependable Aviation Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to join their essential operations team in Oxford . This role is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of all ground support equipment used at the airport, ensuring seamless aircraft ground handling operations. You will work with a variety of specialized vehicles and machinery, playing a vital role in the airport's efficiency and safety. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to maintaining high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic checks on GSE fleet (e.g., baggage tractors, aircraft stairs, de-icing units).
• Repair and service mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems of GSE.
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed.
• Ensure all GSE operates safely and meets regulatory requirements.
• Operate various GSE vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently when required.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a GSE Technician , mechanic, or in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
• Experience working with heavy machinery or specialized vehicles is highly advantageous.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain airport security clearance.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, crawling, and working in various weather conditions.
