Aviation Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient and proactive Aviation Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to join their dedicated team in Oxford . This role is crucial for maintaining the fleet of vehicles and equipment essential for airport operations, ensuring their safety, reliability, and availability. You will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, repair, and overhaul of a diverse range of GSE. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and diagnostic checks on all GSE, including aircraft tugs, baggage carts, de-icing units, and power units.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs on GSE as required.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate service records and document all repair actions taken.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards for all equipment.
• Operate and test repaired equipment to verify functionality and performance.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a GSE Technician or a similar mechanical technician role, preferably in an aviation or automotive context.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to operational procedures.
• Relevant vocational qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or related fields are advantageous.
