About the Role

Our client is seeking a practical and reliable Aviation Ground Support Equipment Technician to ensure the optimal performance and availability of all ground equipment at their Nottingham facility. This role is essential for supporting smooth airport operations, ensuring that vehicles and machinery used on the tarmac are safe, functional, and ready for deployment. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of a variety of ground support equipment (GSE), from baggage loaders to de-icing units. This is a hands-on role for an individual with mechanical aptitude and a commitment to operational efficiency in a demanding aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a diverse range of ground support equipment (GSE).
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with GSE and implement effective repair solutions.
• Ensure all GSE meets safety standards and regulatory requirements for airport operations.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and inspection activities for the GSE fleet.
• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and provide on-the-spot repairs as needed to minimize operational downtime.
• Assist in the management of spare parts inventory and recommend necessary replacements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably with experience in maintaining automotive, heavy machinery, or ground support equipment .
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations applicable to airport environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including working in various weather conditions.
