Aviation Ground Support Equipment Technician

About the Role

Our client requires a skilled and dependable Aviation Ground Support Equipment Technician for their operations at Plymouth Airport. This role is essential for maintaining the fleet of ground support equipment (GSE) that keeps aircraft operations running smoothly. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a wide range of GSE, including baggage tractors, passenger stairs, de-icing units, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to ensuring the safety and operational readiness of all equipment used on the apron.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on all types of aviation ground support equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status.
• Ensure all equipment is operated safely and in compliance with aviation regulations and company procedures.
• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and service disruptions on the airport apron.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a mechanic or technician, preferably with GSE or heavy machinery.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
• A commitment to safety and adherence to operational procedures.
• Physical ability to perform tasks in an outdoor airport environment.
