Aviation Ground Support Equipment Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Aviation Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to ensure the optimal performance and safety of their essential ground equipment at the Derby facility. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of GSE, which is critical for efficient airport operations. This hands-on role requires a proactive approach and a strong mechanical aptitude. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing on various types of aviation GSE, including baggage loaders, pushback tugs, and de-icing units.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with GSE.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed.
• Ensure all GSE is operated and maintained in accordance with safety regulations and company procedures.
• Operate GSE safely and efficiently when required for testing or operational support.
• Adhere to all workshop safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanic or Technician , preferably with experience in maintaining heavy machinery or GSE.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and repair instructions.
• A proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
• A valid UK driving license is essential; specific GSE licenses may be advantageous.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as required, based in the Derby area.
