Aviation Safety Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Aviation Safety Analyst to join their safety department in Derby . Working in a hybrid model, you will play a key role in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting safety data to identify trends, assess risks, and recommend preventative measures. Your work will be crucial in supporting the continuous improvement of the company's safety performance and fostering a strong safety culture. This role requires a strong quantitative skillset, attention to detail, and a passion for enhancing safety within the aviation industry. You will contribute to critical safety initiatives, working collaboratively with various departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, validate, and analyze aviation safety data from various sources, including incident reports and operational data.
• Identify safety trends, risks, and potential hazards through statistical analysis and data mining.
• Develop and prepare regular safety performance reports, dashboards, and presentations for management.
• Support the investigation of safety incidents and occurrences by providing data analysis and insights.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of safety risk mitigation strategies.
• Promote a positive safety culture through effective communication and data visualization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data analysis, preferably within the aviation industry.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, statistical packages like SPSS or R, data visualization tools like Tableau).
• Strong understanding of aviation safety principles and reporting systems.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and report-writing skills.
