About the Role
Our client is seeking a vigilant and experienced Aviation Safety Inspector to join their team in Edinburgh . This role is critical in ensuring the highest safety standards are maintained across all aviation operations, contributing directly to the prevention of accidents and incidents. You will conduct thorough inspections, audits, and investigations, assessing compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of aviation safety principles, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to enforce safety standards effectively while fostering a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections of aircraft, facilities, and operational procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Investigate aviation safety occurrences, incidents, and accidents, gathering evidence and preparing detailed reports with findings and recommendations.
- Assess the effectiveness of the organization's Safety Management System (SMS) and recommend improvements.
- Review and approve safety-related documentation, including manuals, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Deliver safety training and awareness programs to personnel across various departments.
- Stay current with evolving aviation safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
Requirements
- Significant experience in aviation safety , regulation, or operations, with a strong understanding of SMS principles.
- Possession of relevant aviation qualifications or licenses (e.g., pilot, engineer, or safety professional certifications).
- Proven ability to conduct thorough inspections, audits, and investigations.
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills, with a meticulous approach to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and engage personnel at all levels.
- Knowledge of UK and international aviation regulatory frameworks (e.g., CAA, EASA).
