About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Aviation Safety Manager to join their team based in Coventry . This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the company's safety culture and compliance framework across all aviation operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the Safety Management System (SMS), conducting safety audits, and leading investigations into aviation incidents. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of aviation safety regulations and a proven ability to foster a safety-conscious environment. This position offers a blend of office-based strategic work and on-site oversight, contributing significantly to the operational integrity of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the organisation's Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all operational areas.
• Lead and manage incident investigations, identifying root causes and developing corrective action plans.
• Promote a positive safety culture through training, communication, and engagement initiatives.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities (e.g., CAA) on all safety-related matters.
• Monitor safety performance indicators (KPIs) and report on safety performance to senior management.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in aviation safety management or a closely related field.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, safety standards, and risk management principles.
• Experience in developing and implementing Safety Management Systems (SMS).
• Proven ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and lead safety improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
