Aviation Safety Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Aviation Safety Manager to oversee and enhance safety protocols within their operations based in Birmingham . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety management systems to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This hybrid role allows for a blend of on-site collaboration and remote work, providing flexibility while maintaining a strong presence in driving a culture of safety across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organisation's Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with EASA/CAA regulations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Promote a positive safety culture through training, awareness campaigns, and effective communication strategies across all departments.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, and stakeholders on all matters pertaining to aviation safety.
• Manage the reporting and analysis of safety data, identifying trends and recommending proactive safety improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation safety legislation and company policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an Aviation Safety role, with a strong understanding of SMS principles.
• Possession of relevant safety qualifications or certifications (e.g., Safety Management Systems for Aviation).
• Demonstrable experience in conducting risk assessments and incident investigations within the aviation sector.
• Excellent knowledge of UK and international aviation regulations.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience with safety management software and data analysis tools.
