About the Role
Our client, a prominent organization within the aviation industry , is looking for an experienced Aviation Safety Manager to lead their safety initiatives from their headquarters in Belfast . This pivotal role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's safety management system (SMS) to ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations and to foster a strong safety culture. You will play a key part in risk assessment, incident investigation, and the continuous improvement of safety performance, contributing to the operational integrity of the organization, based in Northern Ireland .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the organisation's Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with ICAO and EASA standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification exercises across all operational areas.
- Lead and manage incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Promote a positive safety culture through training, communication, and engagement with all levels of staff.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and industry bodies on safety-related matters, ensuring compliance and best practice.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in aviation safety management , with a deep understanding of SMS principles and regulatory frameworks.
- Relevant degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven ability to conduct effective incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to influence safety behaviour.
- Knowledge of aviation operations and potential hazards within the sector.
