Aviation Safety Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Aviation Safety Manager to oversee safety initiatives for their operations based in Portsmouth . This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure the highest levels of safety performance across all activities. You will lead safety investigations, risk assessments, and training programmes, fostering a robust safety culture throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's Safety Management System (SMS).
• Lead and coordinate safety investigations into incidents and accidents, identifying root causes.
• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification exercises.
• Develop and deliver safety training programmes for all levels of staff.
• Promote a positive safety culture and encourage proactive reporting of hazards and concerns.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities (e.g., CAA) on safety matters.

Requirements

• Proven experience in aviation safety management, ideally with an SMS background.
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations and safety principles .
• Experience in conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Relevant professional qualifications in aviation safety or management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across different departments.
