About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Aviation Safety Officer to join their compliance and safety department in Edinburgh . This crucial role involves developing, implementing, and managing the company's aviation safety management system (SMS). You will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory safety requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's Aviation Safety Management System (SMS).
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all operational areas.
• Investigate aviation safety incidents and occurrences, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through training, communication, and awareness programs.
• Liaise with aviation regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with all safety legislation.
• Develop and update safety policies, procedures, and manuals as required.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in aviation safety management or operations.
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and safety standards (e.g., ICAO, EASA).
• Proven ability to conduct effective risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
• Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment based in Edinburgh .
