About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Aviation Safety Officer to champion safety initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements within their operations based in or supporting Belfast . This role is essential for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety management systems (SMS) to mitigate risks and foster a strong safety culture. You will be a key contributor to maintaining the highest standards of safety across all aviation activities. This is a crucial position for an individual dedicated to aviation safety, offering the chance to make a significant impact from a remote capacity, supporting operations in Northern Ireland and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the organization's Safety Management System (SMS).
• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification exercises.
• Investigate aviation safety incidents and accidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations for prevention.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to all levels of staff.
• Monitor compliance with aviation safety regulations and standards, ensuring adherence.
• Promote a positive safety culture through engagement and proactive communication across the organization.

Requirements

• Significant experience in aviation safety management or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of ICAO, EASA, and other relevant aviation safety regulations.
• Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and developing safety policies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
• Relevant professional qualifications in aviation safety management are highly desirable.
