Aviation Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Aviation Safety Officer to join their team in Southampton . This hybrid role requires a proactive individual dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the safety performance of aviation operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring compliance with all relevant aviation safety regulations and in mitigating potential hazards. You will work closely with operational staff and management to foster a safe and secure working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive aviation safety management systems (SMS).
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of operational procedures and facilities.
• Investigate safety incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Promote safety awareness and a positive safety culture through training and communication initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all national and international aviation safety regulations .
• Maintain safety records and prepare reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an aviation safety role, preferably within an airline or aviation service provider.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation safety principles, regulations (e.g., EASA, CAA), and best practices.
• Experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
