Aviation Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Aviation Safety Officer to join their operations in Southampton . This role is integral to maintaining and enhancing the safety culture and regulatory compliance across all aviation activities. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and promoting safety awareness throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the organization's Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with regulatory requirements (e.g., EASA, CAA).
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
• Investigate aviation safety incidents and accidents, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to all levels of personnel, fostering a strong safety culture.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the organization remains compliant with all relevant aviation safety legislation.
• Produce regular safety reports for senior management, highlighting key safety performance indicators and trends.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an aviation safety role, with a strong understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment methodologies.
• Knowledge of relevant aviation regulations and standards (e.g., EASA Part 145, Part M, Part 21).
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification in aviation safety, risk management, or a related field is preferred for this role in Southampton .
