Aviation Security Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and proactive Aviation Security Officer to contribute to the safety and security of operations in Sunderland . In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for implementing and enforcing comprehensive security measures across airport facilities, ensuring the protection of passengers, staff, and assets. Your role is essential in maintaining a secure environment, preventing unauthorized access, and responding effectively to security threats. You will work within a dedicated security team, upholding the highest standards of safety and security in the dynamic aviation landscape of Tyne and Wear.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of airport premises, terminals, and restricted areas to ensure security protocols are observed.
• Monitor surveillance systems, including CCTV, to detect and respond to security breaches or suspicious activities.
• Screen passengers, baggage, and cargo in accordance with stringent aviation security regulations.
• Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies.
• Maintain detailed incident reports and assist in investigations as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a security role, preferably within the aviation industry or a high-security environment.
• Valid SIA license or equivalent security certification.
• Strong understanding of aviation security procedures and threat assessment.
• Excellent observation skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
• Good communication skills for reporting and coordinating with team members and authorities.
